I used to have the cox digital phone.

the setup is pretty much like with internet only, except the box has
support for two phone lines.  so you just have two extra phone ports
(both output) on the box, a bunch of lights, and battery backup (our
modem had two ports for batteries, but only one battery).  the battery
backup only supports phone though.

I believe their phone is voip because they had to call us and get
confirmation knowing about something with 911 (I didnt even pay
attention).  so, your existing setup should work fine, as long as they
arent blocking anything else.
