Are you even going to use it for live tv, or just recording shows watching your
archived dvd collection?
I am using it to digitize old VHS tapes, record analog cable tv and capture
video from security cameras. I do want to go digital as I have recently found
additional digital channels on my cable service with a new digital tuner TV.
I'd just go check linuxtv.org to see what works good for people who
have the same functionality that you have...
