Yea, but now I can afford all the fancy stuff :) I am now trying to decide whether I want comcast or qwest for internet. They both suck pretty bad (and I actuallly have them both right now). I'll probably go with comcast since I hear that qwest blocks everything encrypted. It's honestly been insane getting services connected out here. I am wish I could send a bill to directv for all the time I wasted trying to get their service.
If only speakeasy were an option out where I live :( On Nov 20, 2007 12:45 PM, James Kuhns <james at kuhns-la.com> wrote: > See ? if you would have stayed here instead of moving to the big bad > city, you'd have had DirecTV and a decent internet connection in no time J > > > > BTW: hit me off list with when y'all will be back in town, S is itching to > go bowling > > > > James > > > > > > > > *From:* general-bounces at brlug.net [mailto:general-bounces at brlug.net] *On > Behalf Of *mat branyon > *Sent:* Tuesday, November 20, 2007 1:42 PM > > *To:* general at brlug.net > *Subject:* Re: [brlug-general] mythtv box > > > > Don't get me started on the crap I had to go through with getting directv > in the new house. > > Long story short... after almost 4 weeks, I only have holes in my siding > to show for it... > > On Nov 20, 2007 12:37 PM, James Kuhns <james at kuhns-la.com> wrote: > > I fully agree, it was fun and informative playing with the > hardware/software > but in the end, I realized the time/money I was spending reinventing the > wheel was costing me more than the 5-10 bucks a month it costs for an > off-the-shelf box that already did what I wanted. > > Now, if DirectTV would just pick up my locals in HD I could dump our COX > cable package. > > > James > > -----Original Message----- > From: general-bounces at brlug.net [mailto:general-bounces at brlug.net] On > Behalf > > Of -ray > Sent: Tuesday, November 20, 2007 1:22 PM > To: general at brlug.net > Subject: Re: [brlug-general] mythtv box > > On Tue, 20 Nov 2007, James Kuhns wrote: > > > I gave up on capturing TV on a PC - I've tried MythTV, MS Media Center, > and > > SageTV with different capture cards - none looked as good as the boxes > from > > my sat and cable provider.
