Not really. it's not the installing the software that's the issue.  It's 
the understanding the SMTP and DNS protocol relationships and how spam 
works that's the issue.

You sorta made my point there. 

For personal use, unless you're trying to get up to speed on running a 
mail server for educational or professional reasons, trusting Google or 
some other 3rd party email vendor is probably the way to go.
