The reason I reported the problem was to help make people aware of it. This thread has documented widespread, if not universal, port blocking, message filtering and censorship worthy of China rather than a nation that is cherishes freedom of speech and due process of law.
Attacks on personal liberty are deliberate. People in power want to identify and neutralized opposition. A private example is the HP spying scandal that we are all familiar with. I read about some public service examples yesterday: http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/012208T.shtml I accept that you did not mean to insult me and think that this thread has served it's purpose. Thanks again for the work arounds. On Thursday 31 January 2008 9:14 am, Scott Harney wrote: > I feel that this list is a discussion of technical issues focused on using > Linux. The results are the same regardless of motivation. _______________________________________________ General mailing list [email protected] http://mail.brlug.net/mailman/listinfo/general_brlug.net
