I hit CAPS LOCK on accident now and then, usually when I'm hitting Tab
often. I don't even want to admit how often I enter the wrong mode in vi
because I have CAPS LOCK enabled.

As far as Notepad, well, the solution is to use Notepad++. I love that
editor in Windows.
