I'm not a fan of the microcells or any solution that uses the network. That said, I've never used any of them. That could be a topic for a long conversation one day, but I'll spare everyone.
All that said, if I were to do something, I would use a true repeater/amplifier with an external directional antenna, powered amplifier, and an internal non-directional antenna unless you just want coverage in certain areas of the building. Typical cost seems to be $400-700 for the true bidirectional amps, coax, antenna, etc. Just my 2 cents. I'd be interested to hear how it works out for your customer.
