I would like my search to automatically expand input U.S. English search terms to another regional variety, i.e., U.K. English, which is found in the data set. Is there an XML version out there somewhere that you might know about? I'm marking up a thesaurus document for a documentary edition with many British spellings, and this would save lots of time! I'm assuming the thesaurus is the only or best way to make these resolutions -- should a user search for "honor" it'd be nice if documents containing "honour" were also retrieved.
