We have added physical memory to our Mark Logic boxes, but it's not
clear to me whether Mark Logic is making the best use of it. I
understand that a calculation is performed when the server is installed
to optimize the database's memory settings. Is there any way to
re-optimize based on a new memory profile? Is this done when the server
is upgraded? If not, is there some heuristic that I can apply manually?
Currently, it appears that on one server, under normal heavy loading
operations (consistent 75% CPU usage), the ML server shows memory usage
(from "top"):
VIRT RES SHR
3115m 2.1g 494m
although the server has 8GB of physical RAM.
Seems as if it might benefit from more?
