Hi Betty,

The document that you loaded via WebDAV is stored as XML, but the
doctype declarations are not actually part of the XML data model, so
they are discarded when loading, after the XML MarkLogic parses the XML.
Here is a thread that talks more about this:

http://markmail.org/message/2wd3dixmid2fej6n

The doctype is really a hint to the parser. If you want to save it, you
will have to do so some other way. You say you could not access the
document because of this--how are you trying to access it? Most XML
editors key off of the mimetype, and if you stored it with a URI that
has an xml mime type (blah.xml for example) then most editors that
support webdav will let you open it and save it.

Subject: [MarkLogic Dev General] Webdav Import strips XML
DocumentDeclaration

I have imported XML documents using WebDav. When I went to access the
document It wasn't recognized as an XML file because the document
declaration has been stripped.

I added the document declaration and saved the file again and again
it was stripped from the file.

Is there a setting to keep this from happening or is this the norm?

TIA.
