Thanks for the reply. it looks like Ubuntu 8.10 uses AppArmor rather
than SELinux. I disabled AppArmor and i still get the error.

Subject: [MarkLogic Dev General] installing MarkLogic 4 on Ubuntu can't
openshared object
Greetings,
I am installing the MarkLogic 64 bit 4.0-4 rpm on Ubuntu Desktop 8.10
(64 bit).
I user Alien to transform the .rpm into a .deb then installed the .deb
without errors.
When I try and run MarkLogic I get this error
mwhit...@reddwarf:~/Desktop$ sudo /etc/init.d/MarkLogic startStarting
MarkLogic: /opt/MarkLogic/bin/MarkLogic: error while loading shared
libraries: libbteuclid.so.6.0.1: cannot open shared object file: No such
file or directory
The perms on the .so look ok.
mwhit...@reddwarf:~/Desktop$ ls -l
/opt/MarkLogic/Basis/lib/libbteuclid.so.6.0.1-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root
1706955 2008-06-23 17:45 /opt/MarkLogic/Basis/lib/libbteuclid.so.6.0.1
Any idea why it can't find it. Add it to some linker path maybe?
Thanks,
Mike
