I was curious as to whether there are plans to provide a function for calculating a hmacsha1? Perhaps, one is already there and it is simply not documented (or maybe I overlooked it in the documentation).
Anyway, something like this would be useful if one wanted to sign a request to publish a message to something like Amazon SNS, or use one of the other Amazon services, etc. I also noticed a post from Norm (when he posted an XQuery-OAuth solution) that he had to use a web service to compute the hmacsha1. But I tend to think native support would be the best solution. I would be interested in your thoughts. Thanks. Darin.
