Hi Darin,
These functions are not visible to XQuery.
Exposing OpenSSL functionality such as this to XQuery is something we
have thought of doing, but we have not yet taken the time to do all the
necessary design, testing, and documentation work that would be needed.
I've added a note to the internal RFE request mentioning that you are
interested. If you have a strong need for this, please raise the issue
with product management.
Wayne.

I was curious as to whether there are plans to provide a function for
calculating a hmacsha1? Perhaps, one is already there and it is
simply not documented (or maybe I overlooked it in the documentation).
Anyway, something like this would be useful if one wanted to sign a
request to publish a message to something like Amazon SNS, or use one
of the other Amazon services, etc. I also noticed a post from Norm
(when he posted an XQuery-OAuth solution) that he had to use a web
service to compute the hmacsha1. But I tend to think native support
would be the best solution. I would be interested in your thoughts.
Thanks.
Darin.
