Subject: Re: [MarkLogic Dev General] Not Able To Open Admin Interface

Hi Varun,

MarkLogic installs itself as a Windows Service, but doesn't mark it for
automatic startup. I'm running it under Windows 7 for development purposes, and
the first thing I do after a clean install is open the Services page, open the
MarkLogic service properties, and mark it for Delayed automatic startup. It
gives your box 5 to 10 minutes to fully startup, before MarkLogic fires up, and
start claiming resources.

Can't recall what happens when you upgrade, but it won't harm to check the
service settings again after each installer run.

Kind regards,
Geert

When I see that page, it's generally because the server's not running. I'm
unfortunately not familiar with MarkLogic on Windows -- but I'd expect there to
be a new service to start. That file is all that's needed to begin.

Oh, here's the link to this part of docs:

http://docs.marklogic.com/guide/admin/startstop#id_95335

Did you choose Start > Programs > MarkLogic Server > Start MarkLogic Server yet?

I have already tried to open it in Firefox and also trying to strat ML

I have only installed "MarkLogic-5.0-4.1-i686.msi". Is it required to

install any other file or not.

Try another browser, like Firefox or Chrome. IE likes

to display "friendly" messages that often mask what the

real problems is. It may simply be that MarkLogic was

never started.

Hi,

I just downloaded Marklogic 5.0 for windows and after installation when

I try to open admin interface (http://127.0.0.1:8001/) it gives me a

error that "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". I have already

gone through the documentation there is nothing mentioned about such error.

So, please help me to fix this problem.

Thanks and Regards,

Varun
