Hi Geert, I am not sure to understand that symlink issue. For MarkLogic to be able to find them at all, they would need to be in a place where MarkLogic looks for them, wouldn't they? Both /var/opt/MarkLogic and /opt/MarkLogic are definitely empty, so how could MarkLogic (and I) have a clue on where else to look for any symlinks at its first start?
Ignoring this until I know better where to look for symlinks, I uninstalled ML 8 again, removed the data directories and installed ML 8 again (now with "rpm -i" instead of "yum install"), i.e. I did, still as root: /etc/init.d/MarkLogic stop rpm -e MarkLogic rm -fr /opt/MarkLogic/* rm -fr /var/opt/MarkLogic rpm -i ./MarkLogic-8.0-2.x86_64.rpm /etc/init.d/MarkLogic start The result is exactly the same. What else can I try? Best regards, Yves ________________________________________ Von: Geert Josten [[email protected]] Gesendet: Dienstag, 26. Double check after rm that the contents of those directories is really gone. Someone might also have moved the actual contents to elsewhere, and added symlink from there to the new locations. Maybe good to keep in mind. And yes, I meant simply redoing the steps you described, just to make sure you did as you described, and the issue is reproducible..
