I don't get a cursor any more in JGtk. I used to, but then at some point it stopped working, perhaps when I got a new laptop over the summer. I never managed to fix it.
I've since switched to the Qt front-end, which seems much nicer. I think it's still experimental, but at least it has a cursor.
