Hi Martin,
I downloaded the zip file, unzipped it in a folder.
Downloaded and installed Python 2.7.3 for 64bit Win7
Ran the following in Command Prompt:
c:\python27\python.exe qjide.py
Started in browser but get the following error:
Request Error: base/navi
Exception in POST/handler: (, ValueError('No JSON object could be
decoded',),)
Once I installed the J addon convert/json in my J7 addon library from JAL
it now appears to work fine.
Looks really promising as a proof of concept.
I'm familiar with the open source RStudio development environment that
provides the same look and feel and functionality both in the browser and
as a stand alone application. AFAIU it is also based on Qt. The development
of J8 has standardised on using Qt too so I wonder if there is an
opportunity to link this endeavor in a similar way. This might make it
easier to provide some of the bits currently missing from your version.
Others will be in a much better position to know how easy this will be in
reality.
