Without investigating this directly, my suspicion is your 'dirfind' utility returns files matching the name pattern anywhere in the nominated directory, including recursively nested subdirectories. However, it looks as if its output does not include directory information (i.e. the absolute path of the file).
I'm also guessing that when you pass an unqualified filename to 1!:55, as in 'test.txt' with no directory information, it attempts to delete that file from J's working directory (typically J's install directory or its bin subdirectory). So unless the file test.txt is in J's working directory, when you ask 1!:55 to delete it, it can't find the file you're talking about, and consequently complains. To fix the issue, you'll have to provide 1!:55 with a fully-qualified filename, including absolute path. Or I could be completely off base :) -Dan ----- Original Message --------------- Subject: [Jgeneral] 1!:55 on W7/64 From: greg heil <[email protected]> Date: Sat, 3 May 2014 20:27:45 -0700 To: General forum <[email protected]> 1!:55 seems to fail on my W7/64 machine in J801. Perhaps it is a permission problem. If so how do i elevate J`s permissions? eg 1!:55 <'test' dirfind '' |interface error | 1!:55<'test'dirfind'' though 'test' dirfind '' test.txt before and after greg ~krsnadas.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
