Looks like the screen geometry calculations are wrong for that new iPad device. Unfortunate, as it sounds like a very nice device.
I haven't tried, but you might see if a search shows up workarounds for older apps on that new device. Perhaps a setting? Unlikely, but worth a look. We'd love to get out an new J iOS that brought the engine up to the current level and handled this problem, but have no immediately plans and it is unlikely before the end of 2019.
