A similar thing happened on my iPhone when the retina screen arrived several years ago - but (surprisingly) Apple fixed the problem within a couple of releases - so hope for the best in the New Year.
Having said that, I would LOVE to see the new J engine in an iOS release. I think it would be a big performance jump for an environment that already has astonishing performance. I mean, if you had told me (even just) 10 years ago I could invert a 1000 by 1000 matrix in 1.25 seconds ON A PHONE - I simply wouldn't have believed ... J807 should cut that to 0.33 seconds - which is faster than an Amdahl V8 inverting a 100 by 100 matrix.... I believe this improvement is purely a result of the new memory management in 807 and therefore should benefit everyone greatly. - joey > On 2018Dec 31, at 07:25, Eric Iverson <[email protected]> wrote: > > Looks like the screen geometry calculations are wrong for that new iPad > device.
