I think the answer lies in the fact that merlin-unit has changed name to avalon-merlin-unit, and the Magic descriptor should provide a compatibility link. i.e. An empty project in index.xml that only creates the dummy Gump project linking the output of avalon-merlin-unit to a merlin-unit project.
