I am just following current ASF practice.

I agree with the importance of preserving archives
and reliable links to past resources.

Please take this up with ASF Infrastructure.
This Incubator forum has too narrow scope.

By the way, unrelated to my orginal post,
ASF Infra is currently preparing to talk to all
projects that have too much stuff in their w.a.o/dist/
space.
