Hi, tison Of course, I'd be happy to share. My initial exposure to this project came at work while handling tasks requiring the export of large Excel files. Directly using Apache POI often led to Out Of Memory, so discovering EasyExcel (the predecessor to FastExcel) felt like breaking through a bottleneck. Its simplicity and efficiency captivated me. Curiosity drove me to dive into the source code, attempt to resolve issues, and eventually become a contributor maintaining the project.
When EasyExcel later announced discontinuation, I agreed without hesitation to help maintain FastExcel—I simply couldn't bear to see such an excellent project archived. Initially, I focused on cleaning up historical defects and gathering user feedback. Since then, we've released five versions and attracted more contributors (many of whom, like me, joined because they found the project genuinely interesting). For me, the journey has been simple: curiosity turned into contribution, and contribution grew into a wish to see more developers benefit from the project. In fact, developers from around the world frequently email me inquiring about project details and the possibility of long-term maintenance. That’s why I believe joining the Apache Incubator is the right next step — it will make the project more visible and help grow a stronger contributor community.
