I guess I was too oblique if even you didn't get my reference. There's
talk about creating a utility project which will contain a number of
components that aid in the development of Java server based solutions. My
point was that they were likely to simply reinvent something that we
already have, and pointed to a web site that contained the punch
line...dash being renamed to Turbine.

At the moment this "general utility" subproject is just talk, and as long
as it remains there it won't go far.
But the real subprojects seem to be chugging along anyway. And perhaps
even starting to converge slowly.
