Dear Apache people,
I have a question regarding Stylebook -- a question that I have
found no other forum in Apache to ask (or have answered). It seems that
although I have looked far and wide for some kind of web page describing
stylebook, I have found none. I know I can download it from Apache, and was
once told that it was an Apache project that got scrapped.
I happen to like stylebook, and use it to this day. I can see how it
would overlap with docbook, but I like stylebook more for many reasons.
Anyway, I suppose I have the following questions:
1) What is the current status of stylebook? Can I get a (very) brief history
of it?
2) IF if was an Apache project... why is there absolutely no mention of it
anywhere? No, "this project is dead" site?
3) I read somewhere a long time ago that there was some replacement Apache
project for stylebook (that involved some kind of embedding of style
information -- which I considered to be not as good design). Is there? I
couldn't find it... Was it Anakia?
4) Almost a separate topic, but should there be some kind of history of
Apache projects? How certain projects merged with others, and split off,
etc. Or perhaps a list of dead projects?
