No! POI is not inactive at all. I just committed a major enhancement a
few days ago.

I may have added a couple to that list that I know are active-ish to see
if they pay attention to general@ :)
Generally POI's mailing list is full of gump errors and bug reports, but
there was a recent bit of discussion. I also don't pay attention to the
svn checkins for poi but look for mail list discussion to indicate
activity.
