9!:11 controls the number of significant digits on the default display.

!. can be used with ": for formatting.

3!:0 gives the internal type of a value.

  9!:11 ]16

  1%3
0.3333333333333333
   ":!.4 ]1%3
0.3333
   3!:0 ]1%3
8

The last 8 indicates a floating-point value.
