I can easily see that referencing a verb,

   <"1 i.2 3
+-----+-----+
|0 1 2|3 4 5|
+-----+-----+

but what is an instance of a practical use of talking about (for example)
the 1-cells of a matrix without implicitly referencing a verb?  (This is not
a rhetorical question; if there is a practical use I would like to know).
