We guessed the demand for such a task manager would be low and chose to not provide one for the 601 release. It would be fairly easy to build one and all the necessary docs and example code is already there. It would be a good exercise for anyone interested and would be a useful contribution back to the J community.

f.y.i.:

 C:\j601\system\extras\help\user\interrupt.htm :
" ... if you have a running production J task while you are using break with another J task
you will break both tasks unless you take specific steps."

I assume this also applies to n J tasks where n > 2 ?

I think a list like Task Manager's task list would be useful
such that one could explicitly choose one or more J tasks
and click a button control: [ End Selected J task(s) ] .

A second button control could be labelled [ End ALL J task(s) ] .

J601 uses jbreak and J504 does not so there is no conflict. Read the
J601 docs on interrupt to see how jbreak interacts with multiple 601
sessions.

Subject: [Jgeneral] J break question ...

If two instances of J,
example, J 5.04 and J 6.01a,
are running simultaneously,
how can JBreak be directed to stop
one or the other instance, but NOT
both?

Thank you.
