i41 appreciate it.
I also have tried in the past to get one J Forum to permit such topics as
tagged with "{off topic]"; Jchat has been suggested.
I will note that if a tool that is required for use as an ancillary
to the use of J (and a browser is a pretty important part of J
documentation)
SOME form of discussion about changes to the most popular ones (NS, IE, FF,
a few others)
where changes there impact using it for J purposes
oughta be appropriate somewhere in J Forums.
I also have suggested the usage of additional mail headers that are standard
OR non-standard to attach keywords
to allow filtering of such topical discussions either IN or OUT of what
people will view.
Other than that, only total exclusion seem to satisfy the general all-call
Chris is expressing;
but one which I intensely disagree with:
One of the most important aspects of any open community, which J has lived
an dpropsered by,
is cross fertilization.
Loss of that, especially on topics that are NOT a part of the community
directly
usually leads to unavoidable creative sterility over time.
A subtle slope, but one which I have seen time and time again.
My seq(id(*)) worth.
Cheers.

Do not worry, Chris, I intend to post no further messages on this
topic ... it took
only ONE ringing of the bell ... perhaps you already have IE7,
perhaps not.
Perhaps I am wrong in my belief that other members of this
community would appreciate this heads up ...
some will ... you are obviously not one of them.

P.S.: it was a rant yesterday when I chastised Microsoft directly ... I
hope you can appreciate
the difference.

Gerry, please do not post any further messages on this topic.
As your subject line indicates, it is off topic for the forum. The
internet provides plenty of outlets where you can vent your frustration
with Microsoft - the J forum is not one of them.
