Sorry for being so drowsy that I didn't notice this was
in an old version (J504) - trying it in J601 shows that
the problem was cleared along with other similar/related
limitations.

Special apologies to Roger (and anyone else) who went to
the trouble to try and reproduce the failure....

Reproducing the experience I found that 1028 ds were
acceptable, but 1032 got the Segmentation fault....

I suppose it is a buffer overflow, but a limit error
would be more pleasant. I actually did loose some work
(the session before I zoned out....)
