Now I *think* I've successfully set up the Package Manager on my Mac (I'm sure you'll be hearing back from me if I haven't!)
Three points: 1) http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/JAL/j601#direct "Though not recommended, the archives can be downloaded for manual installation or diagnosis from the distribution location." Not recommended - and yet at the moment this is the only way to do it. 2) http://www.jsoftware.com/jal/j601/library/ Only two versions here, one for Linux and one for Windows. Well I went ahead and installed the Linux version, guessing that OSX approximates more closely to Linux than to Windows, but I have no idea if I'll be regretting that. 3) http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/JAL/Package_Manager#head-e71aa7ad7f0a3b1d465211252b9de8ae639e2533 http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/System/Installation/Mac#wget Both these sources are quite explicit that wget is a necessary prerequisite. And yet it seems to have worked just fine with curl (again not quite sure yet!) Alistair ___________________________________________________________ Inbox full of unwanted email?
