Hello Roger;
I consider these forums to be some of those materials. IME a question
comes to this forum because the J materials, although containing the
answer, do not make it very accessible, the J mug slogan notwithstanding.
If you are anticipating hostility, you might be mistaking J for Perl.

As far as I am concerned you can continue to send
questions to General or Programming as appropriate.
The delete button is easy enough to hit.
However, to repeat a comment I made before:
At some point in your J programming you should
consult the J reference materials.

Subject: [Jgeneral] How about a novice forum?
I am fairly certain that more than 50% of the readership for
Jprogramming and
Jgeneral find my questions too amateurish for their tastes.
To that end, we need a forum where people who have not mastered a
certain level
of material, say all of "Learning J" or all of the "The Primer"
can ask
questions without forcing advanced users with no interest in
teaching to have to
hit their delete button 10-15 times a day because of an over-
excited novice such
as I.
