Since it is built of four dual-core machines, I think a combination of these 
two approaches would be possible. The basic problem of breaking problems down 
and managing communication to support parallelization would not be affected by 
this, I recognize. As I understand it, however, this problem is considered to 
come with the territory when parallelization is approached.
