The problem is that usefulness (as a function of accuracy) is a
non-linear function, and may not even be monotonically increasing.

To anyone remembers the original Star Trek series, if the question was
asked "How long will it take us to get to the nearest star system?",
a useful answer is "At this speed, we will get there in 200 years".
Mr. Spock's typical answer of "200 years, 3 months, 4 days, 6 hours,
21 minutes, and 3.74 seconds" is not only less useful, but it is
misleading since it implies a level of accuracy not present in the data.
