I think that we are unclear because you did not provide enough information to allow us to reproduce your problem. you can post your entire session of installation for discussion.

sudo is a standard linux command and not related to J. It is strange that you can su but not sudo. Did you use sudo in Fedora before? Do you know the superuser password for your Fedora?

You must not have read my initial message. Fedora complains about my use of sudo, even
threatened to "report" me.

My second message states that I became su to do the move, and that j601/libj601
is indeed in /usr/lib.

What is unclear is, what do I do now?

It worked just fine.

Sorry. I see now that I must have copied the wrong line from the install.txt
file to my email requesting help. It should have read:

mv libj601.so /usr/lib/.

I checked /usr/lib for it and it's definitely there.

What now?

Hi,

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do to install J (32 bit) on my Fedora 7
machine. I followed the instructions in install.txt but Fedora complains about
my use of sudo. Alternatively, I became superuser to do the requested

mv j601_64/libj601.so /usr/lib64/.

What else do I need to do to get this thing going?

Michael
