I can't test in 64bit but I did notice that some applications balk at accessing files larger than 2GB. Take MS-Office 2003 for example. It will not be able to open PST files (your mailbox) when it's over 2GB. Microsoft actually provided a downloadable tool which will reduce the size of your mailbox to <2GB.
In retrospect, some applications like MS-SQL Server can access files greater than 2GB on my 32bit machine (Lenovo T61). -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Anssi Seppälä Sent: Friday, February 15, 2008 8:21 PM To: General forum Subject: [Jgeneral] Mapped file > 2 GB ? Is there a size limit of mapped files? On XP64 and J64-602 the file mapping does not succeed over 2 GB files. There is 6 GB physical ram.
