You should not lose changes by closing a script window, and likely you
are unaware that the system has saved the script. When you create a new
script, the filename will be n.ijs in the temp directory for some
integer n. Such scripts are temporary scripts and pressing Esc should
save and close the script. You will be prompted to save changes after
you save the script with another name, not n.ijs.

Please check again and let us know if this is still not working.

This behaviour is new to J602. In previous versions, closing an n.ijs
script gave a prompt to delete the script. We felt it would be better to
just save the script.
