If a schedule is setup to a reasonable time ... I would spent some time in the IRC too. My time zone is +8GMT. I'm normally at home by 10pm and would stay awake (lately because of Gears Of War) until 1am during weekdays. But during Saturdays ... I can attend any time until 6am Sunday morning. Have to go to church on Sunday. :)
In my experience ... I learned J faster when I was discussing it at real-time with someone. So I believe a J IRC community is a very good idea ... just needs a schedule. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Oleg Kobchenko Sent: Thursday, April 17, 2008 11:36 PM To: General forum Subject: Re: [Jgeneral] J IRC community --- On Thu, 4/17/08, Brian Schott <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On Wed, 16 Apr 2008, Dan Bron wrote: > > + I really think a dependable, cohesive IRC community would > + be a boon to J, particularly for garnering and retaining > + new talent. I agree with Brian that it might be more participated if there were some regular hours or topical discussions scheduled like the NYC meeting--which I wish they could set up a sort of net meeting to join remotely. ________________________________________________________________________ ____________ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
