I believe that the second shortcut should be: 23#"\j602\bin\j.exe" -jnew The count does not include the number or the pound sign. I have no idea what happens to the CR-LF at the end of the text file. Maybe that is why the length of 24 worked for you. Also you might want to add that the shortcuts should be put into "My Device" "Windows\Start Menu\Programs" for them to show up in the Programs list.
