It turns out that it is fairly easy to run
64-bit guest on 32-bit host OS, with
 - Core Duo (or AMD) with VT support
 - VMWare virtual machine

See if your processor supports VT
(hardware virtualization):

And you can enjoy the 64-bit guilty pleasures
from the comfort of your XP or Vista box.

For examples, you can install Ubuntu 64-bit
Linux into free VMWare Player.
