I usually use search rather than the index to find stuff. 

The Find in Files dialog available in J is very useful for this and allows you 
to search all or sections of the numerous help resources that ship with J.

* Edit |Find in Files 
* "Help" tab
* using "Look In:", choose the desired resource to search (e.g. Learning J or 
the Dictionary or J for C) or search it all.

Given that search is already quite accessible I'd be inclined to keep the pages 
smaller and more manageable, rather than make one big long file.
