Yes, you got it -- the Edit | Configure | External Programs -> Web Browser
seemed to default to a path pointing to a non-existent version of Netscape
Navigator (ok, it's an old computer) and, unfortunately, there was no error
message.

I had not guessed that a browser was being invoked, even if I thought to
look at the configuration parameters. Thanks so much for the help!
