First off, the discussion here http://jsoftware.com/pipermail/chat/2009-June/002098.html was enlightening. Thanks for the link.

The free game Tap Tap Revenge is essentially an application that downloads music and actions (if I may call it that) from their servers. Its essentially no different from having an application that just reads an IJS file. Although we may be a bit skirting over what happend to the Sega Emulator which got banned from the Apple Store. An idea would be to provide a J for iPhone packager which would wrap a J application (includes the stub app, j runtime and IJS files) and deploy it to Apple Store as a standalone app. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Oleg Kobchenko Sent: Tuesday, June 30, 2009 12:46 PM To: General forum Subject: Re: [Jgeneral] J on the iPhone (WAS: RE: J on the Palm Pre) This was earlier discussed under http://jsoftware.com/pipermail/chat/2009-June/002098.html iPhone app dev policy prohibits use of * explicit third-party language engines * dynamic libraries So such J runtime must be statically linked into the main app executable. That way it would be like an intrinsic library, not an engine per se.
