It should be a red j icon for java frontend. 
try this 
1. open a terminal
2. cd to the folder where j is installed, such as /Users/john/j602 
3. verify there is a sub-folder called 'bin' and a file 'j.jar' inside
   that sub-folder
4. type 'java -jar bin/j.jar' without quote and report what happened.
