To avoid disappointment or misleading your users,
you should count on a small but definite slow-down
in a 32-bit app when it is run on a 64-bit system.

The whole point of 64 bits is the bigger address space,
and the troubles and complications you avoid by 
not having to shoehorn some app that's bigger than
32 bits into 32 bits.
