Hi there, In Ken's paper A Personal View of APL
http://www.jsoftware.com/papers/APLPersonalView.htm I have found 2 places which probably should be "corrected". 1/ A typo - In function tables, the f outer product of APL is in J the dyadic case of f/ . For example: [a=. b= i. 5 0 1 2 3 4 Should be ==> [a=. b=. i. 5 2/ Probably due to a language change since Ken wrote the paper. I suggest best handled by an editorial comment listing the (now correct) code. Adverbs may be defined tacitly in a number of ways, as follows: ... table=. /([`by`]`over`)\ ==> table=. /([`by`]`over`) (`: 6) Ian Ian Shannon Landscape Modelling and Decision Support Section Department of Environment, Climate Change & Water (NSW) PO Box A290 Sydney South NSW 1232 Phone: (02) 99 955 490 Mob: 0428 296 729 email: Ian (determinant) Shannon (atop) environment (determinant) nsw (determinant) gov (determinant) au web: http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au Please consider the environment before printing my email ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This email is intended for the addressee(s) named and may contain confidential and/or privileged information.
