I have run the same program in j602, and encountered similar discrepancies
at the same point in the execution.  Since I have not been seeing failures in
other applications, the difficulty seems more likely to lie with J than with
the Mac OS.  Because it has not shown up in months of other 
computations, it is
probably triggered by a particular storage configuration generated by this
particular program.

I have uploaded the script as Snake3.ijs in the attachments to my home page at
/jwiki/ArtAnger.  Loading or running it executes an example which 
usually leads
to this type of error.
