I haven't paid much attention to this bug report. I do believe there is a real bug. Perhaps it has already been pointed out and addressed, but it would clarify things a bit to know the environment.
Does the bug occur in jconsole? If so that removes the considerable complexity of the front end. Does the bug occur in both J701 and J602? The simplest demonstration of the bug starting with a clean J session would help. bdysegs probably means something to those who have been following closely, but it would be far better to have the complete set of simple statements in a clean start (jconsole if possible) that show the bug.
