Hi Konrad,

I have not worked with HDF5 files, but you should take a look at using
memory mapped files in J.

Subject: [Jgeneral] HDF5

I would like to use J to work on data that is stored in HDF5 files (see
http://www.hdfgroup.org/HDF5/). Has anybody worked on this before?
Interfacing J to HDF5 should not be difficult in principle (it's just
another C library), but it looks like a lot of work.

What else do you use for reading/writing data that is too big for plain
text files?

Konrad.
